1.1 At the recent “Annual Meeting of Skye and Lochalsh Area Community Councils” Scottish TranServ agreed to discuss with the Highland Council having a “Welcome to Skye” sign at the end of the Skye Bridge.
1.2 George Speed contacted the Secretary and said that permanently rectifying the potholes on the bend on South Obbe and the pavements down by the pier would not now take place until spring 2007. The Secretary wrote to Mark Crow to remind him and also mentioned that the yellow lining at the top of the pier needs finishing, we have not received a reply. He was asked to write again.
1.3 John MacDonald the new Lighting Technician is investigating the possibility of installing lighting around the outside perimeter of the gravel area, the new lights for the Castle Moil have arrived and will be fitted as soon as possible.
1.4 It was suggested that we have an information board in the car park. Mr Fulton suggested we liaise with Geoff Robson or Dorothy Maxwell in the Highland Council Planning Department at Inverness. Mr Glenwright agreed to co-ordinate this, ongoing.
1.5 We have received a quotation from Calum MacAskill of £5475 + VAT to put a sloping roof on the flat area of the roof of the Old School. We wrote to the Highland Council to see if a grant is available and they have offered £1000. It was agreed to look for other sources of funding.
1.6 Mr Sikorski said he hoped to get a working party together to remove vegetation from the old Kyleakin to Broadford road, to enable it to be used for recreational purposes, within the next four weeks.

2. Correspondence

2.1 We have received letter from the S & L Association for Disability requesting that the interior of the Old School is repainted. It was agreed there was no point doing this until after the roof was fixed.

3. A.O.C.B.

3.1 We discussed Village Officer funding and Bill Fulton suggested that we put our application in now, also last year the Highland Council paid Kyleakin Football Club £250 to cut the grass by the roundabout at the top of the village, and Bill Fulton suggested that this year the figure should be increased to £300. The Secretary was asked to write to John Macdonald and request this funding and to enclose a copy of the summary of Village Officer work carried out over the past 12 months that had been written by Alasdair Munro.
3.2 We have been informed that the foreshore opposite No. 8 Kyleside is sinking and it was suggested that additional rock armour is required in that area. The Secretary was asked to write to Mark Crow.
