Sewage Disposal

The Secretary was asked to write to the North of Scotland Water Authority, copy to Bill Fulton, saying the Council was concerned that the lack of mains sewage in the village could affect future developments in the village.

From that date the 15p single fare will be introduced and the 50-journey bus tickets will no longer be available.

    2.2

We have received a letter from The Eilean Bàn Trust asking us for the Community Council's support in the "Naturally active Communities" project. We have written back confirming the verbal support they had already received.

3. A.O.C.B.

3.1

We have received a letter from the Skye & Lochalsh Association for Disability concerning the results of an inspection carried out by the Social Services of the Day Care Centre that made the following recommendations:

1. Explore the possibility of positioning a ramp at the main door to give wheelchair users equal opportunities of access.

2. Identify the main entrance with an appropriate sign and a doorbell fitted that would allow the door to be locked for greater security.

The Secretary was asked to reply stating that we could arrange for a suitable sign to be placed by the main door and a doorbell fitted. However positioning a ramp at the main door had been explored several years ago and was found to be impracticable, as it would block vehicular access to the surgery and the fire station at the rear of the Centre.

Next Meeting: Monday 10th December 2001 at 19.30.
