Graham Finnie informed the meeting of his plans to hold two motor cycle trials on Forestry Commission land on Skye in 2004. He said he would expect 50-60 riders to participate the majority from outside Skye and it would generate extra income for local guest houses and traders. He already had agreement from the Forestry Commission but they were looking for a reference from the Community Council. It was agreed to provide him with a reference.

Angus McHattie gave the meeting a brief description of the Loch Duich, Long and Alsh Reefs Special Area of Conservation Management Forum, on which the CC has a representative. He explained that this area was chosen as a SAC for its reef interest as it is considered one of the best reef areas in Britain, and the main aim of the management scheme is to assist relevant authorities in the management of the area with respect to the Habitats Directive and the Conservation Regulations.
